COURSE DESCRIPTION
Grade 9 Destreamed English develops the analytical, reading, writing, oral communication, and critical thinking skills students need for success in secondary school academic programs. Students will study and interpret a range of challenging texts from both contemporary and historical contexts, including novels, poems, plays, and opinion pieces. They will also analyze and create effective media texts. A key focus of the course is the thoughtful and purposeful use of spoken and written language.
